C.W. is confused about RNC analysis/conclusions that go public. They are not required to be based on events. Whether is Karl Rove or Mehiman they make a decision on the message they want to sell and claim the events support that message.

Much like increased terrorism means their GWOT strategy is working. They're desparate. There seems to be a rock bottom base that will believe it. With things the way they are going into the midterms they can't afford to lost that base, it's all they've got and they need to motivate them to go out and vote.

They can't be pro-war because they lose the center and left and they can't be anti-war because they've already lost the left and they would give up their base.

For the right wing radio, they go pro-war and for the middle they preach fear of change. The right gives some support for Lieberman running as an independent. Not because they want him to win, but so he'll split the Democratic vote and get a Republican to slide in under the smoke.
