You need evidence to even justify an investigation. Randomly investigating hoping you find some evidence of some wrong doing is often called a "fishing expedition" and whatever you call it, it isn't usually a good idea, or a reasonable activity.

If I was asserting "you have no evidence therefore you must be wrong", you could reasonably counter with various reasons why the evidence would be hard or impossible to get. However while such reasons would be a good counter-argument to that specific assertion, they are not a reasonable argument for your assertion that that Bush participated in, or even had prior knowledge of any price fixing scheme.

As it stands now, there is enough prima facie evidence that points to Dumbya and the oilmongers sleeping together.

"Sleeping together" could mean so many things that its almost meaningless in this context.

So far you and the other people on this thread have presented basically no evidence for the contention that Bush was part of any price fixing scheme. The fact that if there was such participation it might be hard to prove, doesn't lift the burden of proof off of the person making the accusation.
