The French have not had a military tradition for a long-long time. Nothing compared to the Prussian Germans anyway. Perhaps the French are less brave on the battlefield than some cultures, but they are still our allies. They are servbing at our sides in Afghanistan and Kosovo and are trying to lead the way in Lebanon. They are are not the enemy. The enemy are Islamic extremists and far rightwing Americans. Those are the two groups who despise peace, honesty, tolerance and sanity Okay Please heaven save us from zealots. Just because today the French are your allies, doesn't mean that they don't have their own interests at heart. France is in the lead for helping Lebanon cause Lebanon was their colony. They are not there to make a viable peace they are there to protect Lebanon. Of course you aren't here to make sure Israel survives either, so you may be in complete agreement with some of the French ideals. you notice of course that they made a deal in Washington, and rewrote it to favour lebanon as fast as they could.
