So should we reject France's help in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Lebanon and other hot spots around the world just because Bushies rightwing radicals smear the French? No more than we should reject your messages because you obviously have an agenda. But if you know that France has an agenda, then you have leverage in the deal you make with them. Do you think any one of the countries involved in this mess doesn't have some reason to be there? Why is saying that France has an agenda that includes getting the best deal for it's former colony, and it's French inhabitants a smear? France has a decided advantage if it leads the UN force, one of the languages Lebanese people speak is French. It is a lot easier to deal with people you can talk to.
