That appears to be what happened. Some of the demand is better attributed to the price cuts, I think, rather than Conroe hype.

I've also noticed that the giveaway deals on memory seem to pretty much dried up. It may be that increased sales of CPUS has soaked up what had been excess supply of RAM.

Yes. Still AMD's shift to dual core is one or two quarters on the late side.
