The "people of conscience" aren't just disagreeing. They are threatening to impeach the President over this disagreement. They are the aggressors in this battle. The Executive is fighting on enough fronts without having to fight a battle on its rear. The mistake it seems to me is in turning the Iraq war into a 'for us or against us' issue at home, when people of conscience just didn't agree that it was the wisest option at the time
