Gore would have had Richard Clarke continuing on in charge of the Al Qaida desk in the White House. Bush disbanded that operation completely when he came into power. As a result, Gore would have stood a much better chance of stopping 9-11 like Clinton's people stopped the LAX 1999 AL Qaida bombing. Bush not only disbanded all counter-terrorism operations, he seemed totally disinterested in the subject. Rice was due to give a speech listing threats to our nation on 9-11.01. terrorism and Al Qaida were not even to be mentioned in her speech. Incredible, huh?
