Everyone, here and everywhere else too, only looks at the govt printing. One can not overlook bankruptcies or decreased appetite for credit. The latter are far more important

That is true. Credit can only be created when you have two willing parties, a willing lender and a willing borrower. Without these two entities the monetary base is useless as money/credit stays in the vault without entering real or financial economy. Just check with BOJ. Their efforts over the past 10 years were totally futile despite massive "printing".
