I find that I can't get too worried about Sprint's decision. They will still have to sell dual mode phones with CDMA chips in order to roam on their own and other's networks, and to be backwards compatible. The inclusion of the CDMA chip alone nets Qcom the full normal CDMA royalty on the phone when sold. And the CDMA chip/royalty sales too. Not to mention that most likely they will be able to assert IP on WiMAX and net normal royalties anyway.
