This is obvious to anyone that looks at the movies. #2 Thermite is just another name for iron-rust and aluminim. You can find that in just about any building. #3 Thermite doesn't explode. It just burns very very hot with a blinding white light. Nothing like that is seen in the debris pile coming down.
