Aren't you making the point for AMD? With virtualization, parallelization, what ever, Getting The Job Done with a reasonable TCO is what people want. Who cares how many cores are involved? So you are saying that buying a 4-way SUN system just to essentially match a desktop Conroe in FP is an non issue and nobody cares? Maybe you have money to burn but not everybody does. If you have unlimited funds then go ahead. All the fanfare about NGA was designed to make an argument that is more a side issue to most end users. Of course performance is now a side issue.
