the fed has been overstating GDP for this entire decade. I don't know about last decade really, because there were definite signs of a boom last decade (jobs growth and tax receipts) so hard to say. But this decade something is amiss in the calculations.

My personal opinion is that the GDP figures are skewed and don't reflect all the jobs offshoring that has happened since 01. Is the fed counting the money flow we've sent to india as if it is circulating HERE? thats what it seems like.

You can't have a GDP of 4% in an economy of this size and create fewer jobs than population growth which we have done for 6 years now. We need a much better economic team than this team of dolts. The new treasury secretary from Goldman - Paulson seems like a pro, but the others are substandard.
