There is much, a study of the history of the mother country, can teach the former colonies, if only their leaders would look. Yet, they all seem to make, in greater or lessor degrees, the same mistakes. H.K is perhaps an exceptions,TJ.:}

Instead of studying what successful policies took a pip squeak of an Island to such greatness and economic clout and copying them, they seem to adopt the very things that shrunk it.
Wars, attempting to police the world, socialism, welfare, expansion of fiat currency, expansion of Government and bureaucracy. These very things that created the destruction of that super power have all been imported in varying degrees by the US, Australia, Canada, N.Z.

A similar story for other former super powers, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy. sad really.
