OT: You have missed my point entirely, which was not about which politics one supports, but about the quality of the exemplars one chooses to guide one's choices. I would not put the name you list in the same category as Spears and her ilk, who would be unable to carry on an informed discussion about politics to save their lives. In many ways, it is their job to be uninformed and vapid. Asner, Sarandon, et al have actually done the research, can talk in an informed way about the complex background of the issues they espouse, and often engage in front line political action in support of their beliefs, thus earning the right to be listened to even if you disagree.
