I thought they'd be a little more whelming.

The point is that G5 owners have little incentive to upgrade. It's not all bad though. The'll sell but it's certainly not like the speed bump you get going from a powerbook to a MacBookProThingee.

My pal with a maxed out and straining Quicksilver 867 will buy a new intel Mac. He won't be buying a used G5 because those who are buying now are buying with software in mind.

(I however am looking at the G5 that are for sale on Craigs with some wistful wanting.

I won't buy one but they are beautiful machines. I have a thing for old beautiful computers. The 9600s etc.

Sigh. I'm pretty locked into the idea of a MacBookProThingee.}
