Hi all,

On CNN, I saw that according to the US Treasury, which uses SEC accounting required by all major institutions in the US, the deficit in 2005 was $750B. In addition, the US Treasury reported US debt to be at $49 trillion.

This country's total assets, include private wealth, add up to about $50 trillion.

So we are on the verge of bankruptcy. What a freaking joke this country is becoming. When will we get fiscally responsible leaders in Congress?
