A diplomatic solution is the only one possible. Demonizing the enemy never helps.

Uh... they HAD a diplomatic solution in 2000. Israel pulled out and Hizbullah, instead of disarming, became even MORE powerful, having acquired more firepower than the Lebanese army from Syria and Iran.

Diplomacy only works when both sides have a desire, and the ability, to comply by their mutual agreement.

In this case, Lebanon failed to keep theirs.

A unilateral diplomatic solution, where only one party complies, is called appeasement.
