Thanks Elmatador, that's a fascinating link. I see that the problem is not only to produce an improved enzyme for hydrolyzing cellulose but also to find a way to transform the sugars which are not glucose-fructose into a liquid substance, Problems, problems. It's becoming clearer to me that biodiesel from cellulose will take a long long time to become cheaper than oil. Advances will be in many small increments. Fortunately there are no companies whose major goal is this and the shares of which we can buy. This prevents us from diversifying into a loser.
Meanwhile black oil has been doing even slightly better than gold, all while paying dividends. I wish I could rhapsodize about oil the way Tobago Jack does about gold. But the truth is that the colour of shiny gold really is beautiful.
