KIS -

You accuse me of failing logic 101? That's ironic.

You said: "Thus, since people have to eat, and they have to pay their taxes in dollars, the very act of taxation is an inducement to work.<

That is not logical. If people didn't have to pay taxes, they would still have to eat, so they would still be motivated to work. Ergo, the taxes have nothing to do with the motivation to work.

A further demonstration of this is the fact that some people get paid mostly in shelter and food (room and board), yet they still work.

You also said "You think we can solve the social security demographic imbalance by just printing up a few more trillion dollars and handing them out to seniors? We can raise taxes to 100% of income on every working american and it won't save social security because there will STILL BE TOO MANY OLD PEOPLE and not enough young people capable of doing the labor to wipe their asses and change their bedpans."

This is not only unrelated to the subject we were discussing, but also has nothing to do with anything I said.

Of course, labor AND RESOURCES are main sources of wealth and social stability. And I would add that applied knowledge can be a source of wealth as well. Previously, you said that "labor is the only thing that can be taxed" but apparently now you no longer believe that.

Thus, since people have to eat, and they have to pay their taxes in dollars, the very act of taxation is an inducement to work....

HUH?
your sentence should read:
... "Thus, since people have to eat, and (((...))), the very need to eat is an inducement to work." ...

This one sentence of yours contains enough contradiction to your silly position.

Govt's have NOTHING to do with this obvious(duh!) economic statement.

(you could eliminate taxes entirely, except that govts have to exist for obvious reasons. Given that a society needs a govt, taxes for it should be spread about on a moral basis if only to keep the society from revolt. )
