Ted, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom sidestepped the question Wednesday of whether Israel would take military action against Iran if it continued to pursue its nuclear ambitions. I don't see any reference to "wiping Iran off the map" in that link. You've seen what Israel has done to democratic Lebanon. Imagine what they would do to Iran. Hint: that requires you read between the lines just a little bit. Besides, not even the most hawkish of Israelis would advocate occupying Iran, a country much larger in population than Iraq. We were talking about destroying Iran, not occupying.
