LOL KIS, hitting the bottle tonight I see?
If the ipod was completely oem'd (like many dell computers) then knockoffs like that idiotic "lil monsta" from sandisk would grab a foothold. SNDK is actually IN sunnyvale, last I looked.

lilmonsta.com

btw this lil monsta approach is ROUND 2, after that sheep ad flopped.

You misunderstand design.

Apple does not have to manufacture or design the nuts and bolts to be the designer of the machines.

That is like saying Kubrick did not make film because he didn't manufacture the cameras or make the film emulsion.

This is COMMON SENSE.

> it isnt apple. In fact even the outer casing of ALL the ipods to date
> were designed by a third-party firm down in sunnyvale that isn't apple

This turns out not to be the case.

The Apple iPod team has employed a large number of engineers, including embedded software, firmware, multimedia software, and storage specialists, along with connector, EMC, systems and other electrical hardware specialties, as well as mechanical and plastics tooling engineers, and a team of design specialists.
