tejek, That Hebrew state was still in place in 33 AD, when Jesus was there and was crucified. It continued for about 75 years until the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem and the Jews were forcibly made to scatter to all the corners of the world. It wasn't "still in place".......after their exile, the Jews were allowed to return and their state was resurrected for a relatively short period of time. Eventually it fell again and the Jews were forced out of Palestine for the next two thousand years. By your standard, we should give back the US to the Brits since they were here before us.
