See what "Full Cost Of Living Indexation to 8 PerCent Per Year" brings to the overall stability of the plan.It is not sustainable, and all teachers are not worried because ...that is correct.. it is backed by the taxpayers of Ontario. All the Canadian pension plans that are healthy...have only small increases..occasionally.Teachers should be well looked after on retirement, but to retire with a $ 40,000 or $50,000 pension and then double it to $100,000 within about 15 years depending on inflation, is over the top!It is documented that many teachers have tripled the pension they started with!

..""The plan was reported to have a C$21.8 billion actuarial deficit as at December 31, 2005.[1]

The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is Canada's second largest pension fund after the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. As of December 2005, OTPP had approximately $96.1-billion in net assets""
