If you suggest thermite, or any other cutting technology, it has implications.

If the building supports were cut all at once then the whole building would start falling as separate pieces. If the floors were cut in a time sequence then it implies a sophisticated control system throughout the buildings, and begs the question as to why any perpetrator would care if it came down in a timed sequence or just came down.
