Bringing the buidings down was an important symbolism. Unfortunately, our leaders know how to pull American's strings, and bringing down two of the largest buildings is and ensuring that thousands die is something that is going to rile people up enough to support a war, no matter how misguided, plane crashes might not have the intended consequences. It is quite possible the ruling War Party just sat back and let Al Queda do the dirty work, as you suggest. Certainly the Presidential Daily Briefing of 8/17/01 made it abundently clear that they knew Bin Laden was "determined to attack inside America". But there are legitimate questions raised about how flight simulator pilots acquired the skills to fly planes with such pecision into buildings. The dive into the Pentagon is especially unlikely to be carried out by an inexperianced pilot. Add to that the lack of ANY arab names on the passenger manifests and you really have to wonder who was actually flying those planes?!? All I was trying to demonstrate is that despite people's niave beliefs about conspiracies not being possible, a conspiracy such as rigging a building with explosives is very doable and undetectable via the workings of the intelligence community. They work that way all the time. To wire the WTC is not something that is beyond their capabilities. It is in fact a rather routine sort of intelligence operation that just involves directing various operatives who have no idea what each other are up to. It is not impossible to carry out such a conspiracy and not be detected. It is very possible if one knows how the intelligence community actually operates. Childs play to them. To say 9/11 could not be an inside job because the government couldn't do it without someone spilling the beans is just naive. The intelligence community is set up to operate in just this manner so nobody can spill the beans, because they don't know enough of the beans or about what the beans are used for to spill anything.
