The fact is they are Muslims and I will assume the disassembled phones are going to the ME. Lots of cell phones go the ME to be used as cell phones. Lots of ME young men buy a lot of cell phones so they can use them to get around social restrictions on talking to girls - drive your car around, see a pretty girl in another car, toss a cell phone in & call it. I haven't seen anything in that story to tell me the young men were trying to do anything but make a quick buck.
