No it isn't. If nothing else, it goes to pays someones salary. Then that person spends it on things, which stimulates the economy. It is only when the money goes outside of the system, for example people going on vacation in other countries or spending it on imported goods, can the money be said to be effectively eaten. And that isn't even true if you are looking at the global economy and not the local one.

Tim, I am coming to the conclusion that your knowledge of economics is pretty minimal. There are some basic concepts you don't seem to grasp at all.
