You do, however, have Limbaugh being piped into your ear. There are terrorists attacks in Iraq because: 1. US troops are there. 2. US troops have created a power vacuum by toppling the government. 3. Bush invited terrorists to attack our troops in Iraq instead of bothering to come to the US. They said OK, they're easier to reach there. 4. Sunnis were told by Bush that they have no acceptable future in Iraq. He had to flip-flop on this later but it was really too late. Sunnis are now fighting for their future in their own land against what is now the enemy: Shiite militia. That is called civil war. 5. In this civil war, Sunnis and Shias have even been trading houses so they can now live in 'Sunni' or 'Shia' neighborhoods. I don't think this works very well for Sunni-Shia mixed families. We may call it Iraq and think of it as one country but it's no longer that in reality. Terrorism is: 1. PR 2. PR 3. PR That's the entire point of terrorism. You execute a small plan with relatively few or even zero casualties in order to scare people into doing something. It's a practical activity for a practical purpose. You insist on looking at it through some mystical, fantastical lens. You keep looking for some huge, ancient, geegaw explanation when there is none. It's just people acting like people looking for power, land, money, resources, revenge, etc. IMO you're looking for a StarWars, LOTR, etc. fantasy of good and evil to give your life meaning. You haven't grown up yet so you keep thinking the world is this fancy shmansy place where people are more than human and have amazingly lofty and noble goals. Bunk. GROW UP. It's just us humans here acting in a very humanlike and highly predictable manner.
