Possibly... no doubt much good has come in this world from the religion (and from the advent of Monotheism and the concept of Heaven and of Hell, and the impetus to do 'good' while on Earth, which are not exclusively Christian concepts....) (Excepting, of course, the distressing little tendency when assuming control of secular governments on Earth to devolve into the repressive dictatorship of Theocracy. But surely that should not be laid exclusively at the doorstep of Christianity.) The historical record for most any other religion when they have amassed political domination o're civil society seems to indicate a similar downside.... Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
