is interesting to witness a self proclaimed leftwinger proclaiming to know what moderates are thinking and opine about the accuracy of their perceptions. ROTFHWL

"McCain is a liberal. Rush Limbaugh is much closer to the heart of the Republican party than left of center John McCain. Pat Buchanan is a left-winger on the issue of freedom for the rest of the world."

You, like many of your colleagues, are suggesting the sky is purple when the rest of us know its blue.

In their version of world, the neos think that the above is an accurate description of those people and their political persuasion. That's because the neos live in the world of GW Bush and D. Cheney. Its a world that few of us subscribe to and can agree with nor does it match the reality created by those people who study these things as a career.

The truth is most national politicians in this country are right of center.....that would include people like John Kerry. I know that probably comes as a real shocker to you but so is the notion that the US is not heading head long into socialism and that, in fact, it is one of the most capitalistic countries on the planet. In reality, the neos are so far right that they might pose a real threat to the American democracy. That's because the neos are not terribly democratic although they will claim to be from now until doomsday. They like the concept of democracy so long as their cheerleaders don't wear skirts that are too short or sport 'toos, or where burning the flag is illegal or where there can be a cross over the doorstep of every public building or where certain people like women can not have control over their bodies. In most of the places where they live, the level of democracy is somwhat less than what it is in the places where I live. That is why we can't see eye to eye. Now if you think I will go backwards in order to find a way to live with them....please get that notion out of your head. This is a real serious schism that separates us. Its one that's been coming to a head for a long, long time. I hope it can be resolved peacefully.
