Turning to Truthout for a more objective standard of proof doesn't get much more than the D+ before. Being "backed by the religious right" when the conservative politicians suck up to and play the far right like a fiddle creates some doubt about personal convictions. I'll agree that Zell Miller is a nut but he proved that at the last Republican convention. Whether Bush himself holds the actual views you infer, when Bush is not even mentioned in the piece you cited, leaves you short on actual evidence and causality.

Taking broad trends and hanging a specific individual with them is another sordid tactic often used against the left. Why don't you object to these same tactics when used against the right?

They suck either way, IMHO.
