I figured you would manage to rant and rave in order to debase US ideals.

Who's debasing US ideals? I believe in human rights. I believe in individual rights based solely upon being a human being, not just because someone is born into a particular caste, or position of nobility.

I believe in the Bill of Rights as the basic values that should be expected of every human being.

And I believe that democratic government, held accountable to the entire electorate on a regular basis via an open and fair electoral process is the only form of legitimate government.

I ALSO BELIEVE THAT WHEN OUR ENEMIES BRUTALLY VIOLATE AND SEEK TO DEPRIVE HUMANITY OF SUCH VALUES THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO ENJOY THE BENEFIT OF THEM.

Why should they enjoy the benefits of the Geneva Convention if they are unwilling to agree to, or sign, the treaty?

And shouldn't they be treated differently for WILLINGLY AND DELIBERATELY DEFYING the GC??

I want the US to have the flexibility to deal with terrorist organizations in a way DIFFERENT than we treat signators of the GC.

Let all of the Islamo-Fascist organizations abide by the GC and I'll be among the first to demand that we treat their prisoners with the same respect and humanity that we expect our prisoners to be treated by them.

Until then, outside of delving into sadism with regard to our treatment, we should be be permitted to use special methods in order to obtain information from special detainees.
