From one of my old posts on Cardiome

The mechanism of action of RSD1235 as I have understood is it is mild frequency and voltage dependent.

It blocks open channel Ina and early activating, voltage gated k channel(blocks I kur and I to) and also blocks I kach channels.

Other effects of RSD1235:

It has a rate enhanced activity on conduction
It has an atrial selective apd/erp prolongation
It has no effect on ventricular repolarisation
It has no adverse hemodynamic effects

It is less of a sodium channel blocker of the atrium, k channel blocker more, coz we would have seen more effect on the ventricle conduction velocity and action potential alteration and it would also effect qrs complex.

Regards,
Praveen

Thanks for the link. Lucky I had seen most of the slides before and was able to fast forward to the Q&A section. A gone but not forgotten friend my mine worked with Camm when they were both at St. Bartholomew's.
