I have been seeing this heavy number of israeli casualty argument here today. 80 soldiers is indeed a large number for israel. It is the equivalent of about 3500 americans based on relationship of populations. America has been at war in iraq for three years and is at 2600.
But the reality is that war is war and war does not take into account relative populations. The more important number is 80 dead israeli soldiers to 600 hizbolla. Is 600 the generally accepted guess as hizbolla for obvious reasons never releases casualty numbers? If 600 is the right number, israel is a clear winner regardless of what some threaders say.
