Please cross post this important message on Yahoo in ALL CAPS. If you repeat it often enough you might get a free t-shirt from AMDCLEANKILL or someone else in the boiler room ;)

Anyone have any idea why AMD is still claiming superiority in TPC-C 2-way when WoodCrest blows them away by nearly 50%?

WoodCrest 2 socket 4-core scores 169360
Opteron 2 socket 4-core scores 113626

Why is AMD deliberately claiming Intel only scores 74298?

10 months out of date and still AMD claims it represents the performance of their latest processor.

You may want to email to Dell and IBM.

Perhaps too late for IBM- they just announced general business 2 way computers- expanded their offering after 3 years of "flirting".

There may still be time to save Dell from the expanded engagement they may announce (per reports from the INQ, other sites.) tomorrow(?).

Several Comments...

I notice that there were two HP systems both using dual Xeon 5160 yet one scored 140,246 and the other scored 169,360. Have you any idea why???

Also, the Opteron system that you posted was only using 4 clients while the Woodcrest systems above both used 8. How does the # of clients affect the benchmark score???

Also, in regards to why AMD does not refer to these benchmarks, it might be due to the system availability (which shows 11/22/2006, a full 6 months from the submission date).

Should we not compare the Woodcrest submission with an Opteron system due out toward the end of the 4th Q (which would at least mean a Rev. F chip)???
