"Acknowledging" doesn't take a lot of "guts", IMO. I'd like to see the argument that Iraq was necessary for democratic reform in the mid-east. I think it's a tough argument to sell, and I don't think you could do it. Are you going to make the argument that Kuwait, UAE, or Saudi Arabia can't institute permanent democratic reform without a democracy in Iraq? I don't think so.Had the UN, and the various members of the UNSC, done their jobs properly instead of indulging in endless debate and avoidance of the inevitable, we wouldn't be facing many of these problems. The US is as guilty as anyone in the so-called "endless debate". And to add to this, even in the case of the Israelis and Palestinians and Lebanese, the UNSC needs to step forward and take on its responsibilities and stop displaying the kind of weakness and irresolute manner than only encourages aggression. You may have caught Bolton testifying on his lack of progress in "reforming" the UN. As is so classic of this Administration, he made the point that it wasn't his fault. But I'm still waiting for the Democrats to present a basic strategy, let alone display the spine to implement it. That's much kinder than what I said to the DNC woman that made a cold call to our house a few month ago. I hope she had a volume control on her earpiece. I concluded with, "I'd sooner donate to Ross Perot than the DNC. Once you get a cohesive approach to governance and a spine, you can call back." As I've said before on multiple occasions, I want a third party to emerge with enough strength that no single party can ever control the House or Senate. And I'm still seeing you criticize, rather than present your own alternative solutions. You ever see the after-action report for Grenada? A real embarassment to the military, IMO. Which probably contributed to it's classification. Why does the military do after action reports? To understand where their deficencies are and to subsequently correct them. You're not there yet. You fail to recognize the failures of this Administration and you are unable/unwilling to consider any corrective action [or plan]. There's no point in anyone offering you a plan. All it does is allow you to avoid facing the details of the failures of this Administration. Other than that, you're clueless. Partly cloudy and 83, jttmab
