That fact was obvious since the Yom Kippur war, when the Egyptian SAMs destroyed the Israeli Air force, also since the Afghani war against the Soviet Union, when the mujahadeen shot down the Soviet helicopter gun-ships with US-made SAMs. That's why I'm surprised that Lebanon/Hezbollah didn't have anything to speak of, at least to my knowledge.

I'm sure in any war with Syria or Iran long-range missiles will be prominent. As you know, Hezbollah claimed to have missiles that could hit Tel Aviv but didn't use them.
