It seems you're correct, but it's nothing Hezbollah hadn't done before, and was apparently a diversion to allow them to take the soldiers for prisoner exhcange. They expected the usual proportionate air response from the Israelis, but Olmert wildly over-reacted with an entire air campaign. en.wikipedia.org Certainly Hezbollah are bad guys, but it doesn't make the Israelis good guys. America should cut them both loose. Supporting Israel is against the national interest of the United States.
