I don't know very much about it. During my religious period, I found Revelations a total mystery, and thought it was a silly exercise to try to interpret it. Just guessing, but I would think that he would see the ME confrontations as something to be hastened rather than avoided, the Second Coming being a Good Thing. Israel figures prominently in the prophesies. If you thought it was inevitable and fulfillment of the scripture, then why waste time on trying to avoid it by diplomacy or other means. One interesting thought is that if you are sure the End Times are imminent, then things like global warming or huge budgets don't matter a whole lot.
