I think it's fair to say that never in our history have authorities winked at law breaking of this magnitude. We're in uncharted territory here. Shrug your shoulders if you will, it's legitimate to worry what message this sends to the country as a whole when millions of people flaunt a law with impunity. I guarantee you that the shoulder shrugging would end if 10s of millions of people started flaunting the income tax laws.

Ignoring American laws diminishes respect for law and order in general. Whatever the supportive spin, it's the first step to anarchy.

US immigration laws were set in place to screen for foreign criminal predators, and to prevent the introduction of diseases already irradicated in the U.S. Illegal immigration eliminates those safeguards.
