It makes no difference that all evidence pointed the other way beforehand? Paranoia sees boogiemen where there are none. Plus, Saddam encourage such talk because he didn't want his neighbors to think he was no longer a strongman. Are YOU an idiot or do you just play one on SI? You have to use what evidence you have. Saying somebody was wrong because they didn't fly in the face of all availaible evidence is itself idiotic. Sorry, dude, the only people who look like idiots are those who still think Saddam had WMDs when the factual evidence says otherwise.
