Your claim that tyranny doesn't exist in the US is being put to the test on a regular basis:

Last week, a Michigan sheriff and steve harris believed that three Texans who are Muslims were getting ready to blow up the Mackinac bridge in Michigan with cellphones. The FBI investigated the case and said there was no terrorist plot. However the sheriff continued to refuse to release the three suspects. There is way too much of that kind of crap happening these days.......between wiretapping without court approval and the proliferation of signing statements, the current president gives the impression he is above the law. Are we in a state of tyranny? No. Are we "attempting" to get there? It seems that way.........at least it does some days.
