He was a librarian. He first got a degree in history, and then went for a degree in library science. His history professors wanted him to get a PhD in history, and he probably would have been better suited to the life of a professor, but my mom wanted to start a family, so she encouraged him to get library science degree. He went to UCLA and USC- but i can't remember any more which degree was from which school. He always loved the UCLA USC game though.
