Many did. Robert Taft, for example. Most, if not all, Republicans were ardent isolationists who viewed Hitler as no threat to the US.


Too much! Too much truth! You need to mix in some truthiness like "the Republicans were the first to volunteer to go fight over in Europe. The Democrats declared war but they were too chicken to fight."

It will make it easier to swallow the notion that the GOP believed that Hitler was not a threat to the US.

"Of course he wasn't a threat.........some of them were doing business with the nazis. True, they were short of money and they had to feed their children who were starving"........do you get the concept? Truth and truthiness.........they like that mix the best!
