Easiest way to hedge the dollar is to invest overseas.... at least it works for me.

I put a good sum into VEURX and it is up 18.7% YTD. I have other international funds up double digits YTD. I like a higher percentage of a total portfolio than the 10% Brinker recommends, like double.

Personally, I'm currently about 24% in international even after taking profits last year to bring it down some when I reallocated. Brinker under weighted international in 2003 and I think it has hurt his relative performance.

I'm sure Brinker's possee will have some excuse and say Brinker really meant to put the money he recommended for US funds into international funds... but the data is clear international funds have been the place to be. That is why some of us have done just fine ignoring Brinker's advice.

REITs have done well too the last few years... appartment owners can raise rents when it gets too expensive to buy first time homes...
