Copper Fox Starts Environmental Permitting Process

CALGARY, Aug. 17 /CNW/ - Guillermo Salazar S, President and CEO of Copper Fox Metals Inc (TSX-V: CUU - News; "Copper Fox" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the Company has started the Environmental Assessment process required by the B.C. and Canadian Governments for the granting of permits to place the Schaft Creek porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum into production.

On August 4, 2006, Mr. Salazar and Mr. Clem Pelletier, President of Rescan Environmental Services Ltd, (Environmental Consultant to Copper Fox on the Schaft Creek Project) presented the company's "preliminary project description report" for the development of the Schaft Creek porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum to representatives of the Province of British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office.

On August 14, 2006, the Province of British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office dispatched notice to Copper Fox of an Order issued under section 10(1)1c) of the Environmental Assessment Act (Act). The effect of this order is to consign the Schaft Creek Project's environmental assessment to management by the Environmental Assessment Office. Joan Hesketh, Associate Deputy Minister and Executive Director of the Environmental Assessment Office, has designated Ms. Anne Currie as the Company's Project Assessment Director. The management and staff of Copper Fox look forward to working with Ms. Currie on this exciting project.

The Project Description report presented to the B.C. Government will be published in the Company's website and on SEDAR shortly.
