Re: I think the whole "war" was completely disproportionate. Please tell me exactly what would have happened if we fought the Nazis in WWII "proportionately"? We firebombed their cities! And what about Japan? Two nuclear bombs on their cities. And each of them had it coming. From another thread: There is a note in the Toronto Star that the first commercial flight has landed at Rafick Hariri Airport in Beirut..... Apparently Israel Which was accused of demolishing the Airport wrecked 2 runways but left others in tact.... Wonder how CNN missed that point in their hysteria..... So much for your theory of disproportionality!

All that happened was that Israel proved itself against a bunch of poorly armed militia with strategic weapons designed for military purposes, not to knock down apartment buildings filled with Muslims that hate Israel. That poorly armed militia had by their own admission 13,000 short, medium and long range missiles. They had machine guns and anti tank weapons, and all the things that you can buy from the Russians or on the black market. Except for Tanks and planes they were as well armed as any Israeli soldier. Plus they had 6 years of building bunkers and hiding places... In a Guerilla War, they were well prepared and had more than enough weapons. Plus with complete control of the news reporting, they had a weapon far superior to bunker buster bombs, I imagine you noticed that the Israelis failed to kill one single man in the whole exercise, The whole of Southern Lebanon was filled with single women and children. Or maybe Hizbollah carefully edited what news went out.
