"One caller said she was worried about the dollar falling and wanted to know what to do to protect herself. Brinker ask her if all of her expenses were in dollars. She said yes and he told her it wouldn't be a problem if the dollar fell and she should not worry about it. I was floored by his answer."

Amazing!

"Based on Brinker's remarks to callers he doesn't seem to care very much whether the dollar rises or falls. His attitude doesn't make any sense to me."

Someone should ask him why he had 15% of his portfolio in international funds and 20% in US mutual funds going into the bear market when international under performed the US.

Since the bottom in 2002, international has outperformed and entered a new secular bull market. For some reason, maybe Brinker thought the dollar would be stronger, Brinker only recommended 10% in international funds for all his portfolios in the March 2003 bulletin.

VWIGX pays a dividend which has it well into secular bull market levels with VEURX

VEURX paid 70¢ last year reinvested at $27.86 so that index paid a 2.5% dividend. 6 yrs at roughly 2.5% would put it nearly 30% above its Jan 2000 level. I sold a bunch of HP and bought that fund with my taxable funds in early 2000 and I can confirm the fund is up some 30%... It is too bad I didn't sell ALL my HP back then and buy VEURX.... or some of your energy stocks!... but I'm happy enough overall.

I think gold bugs have been equally put off by Brinker.
