What were they supposed to do, call up the airforce themselves and tell them to shoot down civilian aircraft before they even knew why the first plane hit the building?

Now you are just being a moron. Their jobs are first and foremost to protect the United States of America. What they are suppossed to do is act like leaders and defend this country. Remove themselves from the public spotlight and lead and ensure they are at least safe from harm. None of them even lifted a finger to defend this country or ensure they were safe (apparently they were not at all bothered). Perhaps they would not have made the right decisions under the circumstances or their options were limited, but given the fact that Pres Bush sat there reading to school children and Sec Rumsfeld sat in his office and did work tells us that they did not even do the bare minimum to perform their jobs that morning. It's all well documented, they did nothing. WHY? Why wasn't Rumsfeld and Bush both rushed to secure locations where they could coordinate a response? It's all so bizarre that I would not believe it if it happened in a movie, but it did happen in real life and people like you just think it's A-OK for our "leaders" to sit on their asses while the nation was under attack. It's all very strange and makes the whole thing appear like an inside job. I wonder if you would have been so forgiving of Clinton or Gore if they sat on their ass on the morning of 9/11 and did absolutely nothing?!? Something tells me a wild-eyed rightwinger like yourself would never let us hear the end of it, how they failed to lead. Yet you have no such criticism for Bush and his adminstration. Pathetic!

Andrew Card said directly to Bush, "America is under attack."

THEN Bush sat there for about 20 minutes...doing nothing.
A completely absurd response considering what his job is.

The final 10 minutes of this video says it all:

They learned about the attack after the first plane hit the tower.

Bush said he saw the first plane hit.

They learned about the attack after the first plane hit the tower. What were they supposed to do, call up the airforce themselves and tell them to shoot down civilian aircraft before they even knew why the first plane hit the building? There was a good chance the first one was an accident. It wasn't until the second one hit that everyone pretty much figured out that it was a deliberate act.

Nonsense. They knew the transponder had been shut off and the plane that was supposed to be headed to LA had turned and headed toward NY nearly a half hour before it hit the north Tower. Just in case you were unaware, NY is in the OPPOSITE direction of LA.

A plane from Boston to LA doesn't *accidently* turn off its transponder and turn about and head straight for NY.

Who are you trying to kid? Do you think we are stupid?

Uh, they were trying to hide their identities? We saw security camera shots of the terrorists going through security and onto the planes. You think that if they used their real names it would be more conclusive than actually seeing them walk onto the planes?

As far as I have read, every name on the passenger lists has been accounted for by real people. So which names did they use?
