For as long as I have read her, she has had a hobby horse about pink collar work and she has said it stems from her lucky escape from same. I have exchanged thoughts with her on the subject, and social welfare systems in general, a couple of times. I can understand how her experience informs her politics even if I didn't agree with them. But I was stunned by the intensity of her need for a protector and benefactor. You know, I escaped pink collar work, too, and I hated that trap as much as she did, but I came to a very different conclusion about how best to proceed. Funny how that works.
